Men’s Golf Seventh After Day One At Valpo Fall Invite

CHESTERTON, Ind. – Junior Josh Kirkham is five shots off the lead in a tie for ninth after firing a career-best three-under 69 in the second round of the Valpo Fall Invitational and Bradley Men's Golf sits in seventh in the 12-team field after the opening day of play Monday.

No stranger to the par-72 Sand Creek Country Club, Kirkham fired a 69 at the same course this summer in the final round of the Northern Amateur and matched that in his second round Monday that featured four birdies. Kirkham, who shot a first round four-over 76, closed the day tied for ninth at one-over 145 and is five shots behind individual leader Mason Bonn of Valparaiso (140).

The teams played through a light rain in the morning round with the Braves following up a first-round 316 with their lowest round of the year (306) in the afternoon to finish the day in seventh at 622. Bradley is eight shots back of sixth-place Evansville (614) and holds a three-shot edge on eighth-place Western Illinois (625).

Wright State sits atop the team standings with a two-round score of 568, while tournament-host Valparaiso is second at 572.

Sophomore Brady Kreiter turned in matching 78's Monday and is tied for 33^rd overall at 156. Transfer Aaeri Krishnan closed the day in a tie for 54^th at 161, matching his low round of the year with a second-round 77 after posting a first-round score of 84.

Junior John Stillman is one shot back of Krishnan in a tie for 56^th at 162, carding rounds of 80 and 82. Senior Jalen Hodges completed the team scoring for the Braves with scores of 82 and 87 as he finished Monday's action at 169 in 65^th.

Playing as an individual, junior Roy Radke will enter Tuesday's final round in 37^th at 157, posting rounds of 78 and 79.

The final round of the Valpo Fall Invitational begins Tuesday with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
