Kirkham Ties For 12th; Braves Finish Seventh At Valpo Fall Invite

CHESTERTON, Ind. -- Junior Josh Kirkham earned his first top-20 finish of the year, tying for 12th at the Valpo Fall Invitational as he helped Bradley Men's Golf to a seventh-place finish in the 12-team field.

A day after shooting a career-best three-under 69 at the par-72 Sand Creek Country Club, Kirkham wrapped up the two-day event with a three-over 75 to tie for 12th overall at four-over 220. Kirkham finished just one shot short of earning his second career top-10 finish and was nine strokes back of individual medalist Mikkel Mathiesen of Wright State, who finished at five-under 211.

Bradley posted its lowest 54-hole score of the young season, taking seventh in the field at 929 after a final round 307. The Braves finished five back of Missouri Valley Conference rival Evansville, which took sixth at 924, and five shots better than eighth-place finisher DePaul (934). Wright State claimed the team title at 10-under 854 with tournament-host close behind in second at nine-under 855 and Green Bay a distant third at 892.

Senior Jalen Hodges had the low round of the day for Bradley with a season-best one-over 73 as he finished at 242 in a tie for 55th overall. Transfer Aaeri Krishnan turned in a final round 78 to edge Hodges by three shots, tying for 48th overall at 239.

Sophomore Brady Kreiter tied for 46th in the field at 237, closing out the tournament with an 81 Tuesday. Junior John Stillman rounded out the team scoring for the Braves by matching Kreiter with an 81 on the final day to tie for 58th at 243.

Junior Roy Radke was in the tournament as an individual and capped off his best outing of the year with a season-best 76 to tie for 34th overall at 233.

Bradley returns to action next week, playing in the Derek Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Ill., Sept. 27 & 28.
