Nikki Perlwitz Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Nikki Perlwitz (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after highlighting action for Bradley Women's Tennis at last weekend's Redbird Invitational by claiming the Flight 6 Singles title.
 
Perlwitz picked up three more wins and is a perfect 6-0 in singles play this Fall after claiming the Flight 6 Singles title this past weekend.  She opened the weekend with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Elizabeth Ferdman of Marquette and followed it up with a 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 win against DePaul's Valentina Martin in Saturday's semifinals.  In the championship match, Perlwitz was a 6-4, 7-5 winner over Miranda Yuan of the University of Chicago.  Perlwitz also went 1-2 in doubles play during the weekend.  An international studies major, Perlwitz owns a 3.42 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Perlwitz and the Braves return to action Oct. 8-10 at the Missouri Valley Conference Individuals Championships in Valparaiso, Ind.
