PEORIA, Ill. -- After the best performance of the young season, Bradley Men's Golf plays in its fourth tournament is as many weeks with the Braves closing out the busiest portion of the Fall schedule in Madison, Ill., at the Derek Dolenc Invitational Monday and Tuesday.

No stranger to the Derek Dolenc Invite, Bradley has played in the event each of the last seven years it has been held with last fall's event cancelled and this year's appearance will mark the Braves ninth time playing in the tournament over an 11-year span since 2011-12.

The 2021 Derek Dolenc Invitational will feature 8:15 a.m. shotgun starts for both days of play at the par-71 Gateway National Golf Links.  Bradley is one of 14 teams in the field that includes Missouri Valley Conference rival Missouri State, along with Austin Peay, Chicago State, Detroit, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, Murray State, New Orleans, Omaha, SIU Edwardsville, South Dakota, UT-Martin and Weber State.

Bradley enters the Derek Dolenc Invitational after a seventh-place finish in the 12-team field at the Valpo Fall Invitational in Chesterton, Ind., earlier this week, where the Braves carded the two lowest team rounds of the season.

Junior Josh Kirkham has been the top finisher for Bradley each of the first three outings of the season, boasting a team-best 75.11 stroke average.  Kirkham, who fired a career-best 69 in the second round of the Valpo Fall Invitational Monday, tied for 58th at the 2019 Derek Dolenc Invitational as a freshman.  Kirkham has five rounds of 75 or better this season.

Fellow junior Roy Radke played as an individual at the Valpo Fall Invitational and fired a season-best 76 in the final round to tie for 34th in the field.

Transfer Aaeri Krishnan has been among Bradley's top three individuals in each of his first two outings as a Brave, posting a 79.00 stroke average over his last four rounds.

Sophomore Brady Kreiter has been in the BU lineup for each of the first three outings of the year and is coming off his best 54-hole performance of the season, tying for 46th at the Valpo Invitational where he opened up play with back-to-back 78's.

Senior Jalen Hodges wrapped up the Valpo Fall Invitational with a season-best round 73.  Hodges opened the 2019 Derek Dolenc Invitational with a pair of 75's and matched Kirkham for 58th in the field in one of his first outings as a Brave.

Following the Derek Dolenc Invitational, Bradley will have a week off from competition before a matchup with MVC rivals Drake and Valparaiso Wednesday, Oct. 6 in Burlington, Iowa, at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.
