Josh Kirkham Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Josh Kirkham (Austin, Texas/Fenwick [Ill.]) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after posting his second straight top-20 finish at the Derek Dolenc Invitational.

Bradley's top individual in each of the first four outings of the season, Kirkham tied for 11th at the Derek Dolenc Invitational with a career-best total of three-over 216 at the par-71 Gateway National Golf Links. Kirkham, who helped Bradley to a 10th-place team finish, opened play with a four-over 75 and fired five birdies in an afternoon round that resulted in a career-best three-under 68. He carded a two-over 73 Tuesday as he posted the lowest 54-hole score by a Brave (216) dating back to February 2020. A finance major, Kirkham owns a 3.13 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Kirkham and the Braves return to action next Wednesday, heading to Burlington, Iowa, to face Missouri Valley Conference rivals Drake and Valparaiso.
