Bradley Track Heads To Iowa

PEORIA, Ill. – Over a month after opening the 2022 indoor season at the John Coughlan Invite back on Dec. 4, Bradley Track & Field returns to action this weekend with the Braves making the trip to Iowa City, Iowa, for Saturday's Hawkeye Invitational.

 
MEET INFO
After having eight newcomers make their debuts in the season-opening John Coughlan Invite last month, eight more individuals will make their indoor debuts for the Braves at Saturday's Hawkeye Invitational.  Action at the University of Iowa Recreation Building is slated to begin at 11 a.m. with Bradley's first event taking place at 11:45 a.m. with the men's 60-meter hurdles. 

In addition to the 60-meter hurdles, the Bradley men have a total of 16 individuals scheduled to compete in the 60 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 600 meters, 800 meters, mile, 3,000 meters and 4x400 meter-relay.   On the women's side, a total of 20 Braves will take part in the long jump, 60-meter hurdles, 60 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 600 meters, 1,000 meters, mile, 3,000 meters and 4x400 meter-relay.

Joining Bradley at the Hawkeye Invitational are Missouri Valley Conference rivals Loyola and Northern Iowa, along with Arkansas State, Milwaukee, South Dakota, Western Illinois and host Iowa. 

 
LAST TIME OUT
Bradley won a trio of individual titles at Illinois State's John Couglan Invitational to kick off the 2022 indoor schedule.  In fact, the Braves swept the 600 meter crowns with Mason Jones winning the men's title with a PR of 1:26.22 and freshman Maya Henderson taking the women's 600 meters in a time of 1:41.77.  In addition to the 600 meter titles, junior Hannah Ivy was the top finisher in the 400 meters.
  
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Hannah Ivy and freshman Amiyah Davis rank one-two in the MVC in the women's 400 meters, with Ivy's time 37th nationally and Davis ranking 40th.  Bradley enters the Hawkeye Invitational with seven individuals owning top-10 times in the MVC.

UP NEXT
The Hawkeye Invitational is the first of three trips to the state of Iowa for the Braves during the indoor season, with Bradley heading to Ames, Iowa, next weekend for Iowa State's Cyclone Open (Jan. 22).
