For the third time this season, junior Terry Roberts of the Bradley men's basketball team has been honored with Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honors, announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

In a pair of games against Evansville and Illinois State this past week, Roberts led Bradley with 20.5 points – shooting 55.2 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from 3-point range – while also adding 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists. He opened the week with his second double-double of the year with 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists against the Purple Aces before adding 22 points in a rivalry contest at Illinois State on Sunday.

Overall, Roberts leads BU and all newcomers in the league with 15.8 points, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game – ranking fifth among all players in the Valley in scoring, first in assists and second in steals. His 15.8 points are also the most by a Bradley newcomer since Curtis Stuckey in 1989-90.

Roberts leads all Valley newcomers with three weekly honors this season – also earning the accolade on Dec. 6 and Dec. 27. He is just the second player in school history to collect the award on three occasions as Marcellus Sommerville was recognized six times during the 2003-04 campaign.

Roberts and the Braves return to action Wednesday with a road contest at Drake. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
