PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Track & Field returns to the state of Iowa for the second straight weekend and makes the second of three trips to the Hawkeye State during the 2022 Indoor Season this weekend with the Braves venturing to Ames, Iowa, for Saturday's Cyclone Open.

MEET INFO
Missouri Valley Conference rival Drake joins Bradley in the Cyclone Open field which also includes host Iowa State along with Minnesota, Missouri and NCAA Division I newcomer St. Thomas.

Action from the Lied Recreation Center gets underway at 1 p.m.

The Braves will have a total of 37 individuals competing during Saturday's action, with the men's squad sending 18 members to run in seven events (60 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 600 yards, 800 meters, mile, 3,000 meters).  The Bradley women will have a contingent of 19 individuals competing in those same events along with the long jump, triple jump and 4x400 meter relay.

LAST TIME OUT
Bradley set three school records at last weekend's Hawkeye Invitational, in addition to freshman Nicola Jansen claiming the 3,000-meter title in her track debut.  School records in the women's 600 meters (Tiana LoStracco), men's 60 meters (Eli Rieker) and 60-meter hurdles (Miguel Agyei) helped highlight Bradley's first outing since opening the indoor season back in early December.

MVC HONORS
Jansen was named the MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week Tuesday after winning the 3,000 meters at the Hawkeye Invitational.  She nearly broke the school record in the event, setting a new meet record and winning the race by nearly 50 seconds with a time of 9:26.14.  Jansen's time, which ranks 21st nationally and was the best 3,000-meter time in the MVC since 2018-19, was just over one second from topping Bradley's school record set by Caitlin Busch in 2016.

Jansen is one of three Braves to hold the top time in the MVC this season and one of seven Bradley individuals to have a time rank in the top five in the league.  Sophomore Max Dieterich's personal-best 800-meter time of 1:52.89 from Saturday is the best in the Valley so far this season.  In addition, junior Hannah Ivy's 400-meter time is tops in the MVC.
