TERRE HAUTE, IN – Bradley senior guard Chloe Rice scored a career-best 11 points and matched her career-high with five rebounds, but a 16-0 Indiana State run late in the first quarter proved to be the difference as the host Sycamores (7-7, 2-1 MVC) earned a 73-57 win against the visiting Braves (3-9, 0-3 MVC) Sunday afternoon at Hulman Center.

Bradley pulled into an 8-8 tie when Daija Powell converted a post-up with 6:09 left in the first quarter, but the Braves did not score again until Tatum Koenig buried a corner 3-pointer with 21 seconds left in the period.  Indiana State pulled away by scoring 16 straight points in the 5-minutes, 48-seconds in between the Bradley buckets.  The Sycamores were 7-for-11 from the field during their surge, snaring the offensive rebound and scoring on the putback off of all four misses.

While Indiana State shot .636 from the field during its decisive surge, the Sycamores were 24-for-56 (.429) the rest of the game.  And while Bradley was 0-for-6 with three turnovers during the same stretch, Bradley hit at a 54.1 percent (20-37) clip for the game's other 34-minutes, 12 seconds.

Winning the battle of the boards, 37-27, Indiana State grabbed 17 rebounds and outscored the Braves, 20-2, in second-chance points.  The Sycamores also forced the Braves into 20 turnovers and converted the miscues into a 24-4 edge in points off turnovers.

Freshman Caroline Waite led Bradley with 15 points and senior guard Tatum Koenig chipped in 10 points to complete Bradley's double-digit scoring efforts.  Marie Hunter scored a game-high 22 points and snared 10 rebounds for Indiana State, which also got double-digit scoring from Natalia Lacic (13 points) and Arianna Smith (11).

Sunday's game completed a stretch that has seen Bradley play a program-record eight times on the road in nine games.  The Braves now will play six of their next eight games at home, beginning Thursday by hosting Valley rival Loyola Chicago for a 6:30 p.m. tip at Renaissance Coliseum.
