Peoria, Ill. - The Bradley Braves (3-9-3, 1-5-1 MVC) returned home after a two-game road trip, featuring stops in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Des Moines, Iowa. The Braves, needing to win out and Belmont to lose out in order to host the MVC Tournament's first round, got off to a hot start.
Bradley found two first-half goals for just the second time this season. However, in the 58th minute, starting goalkeeper
Nick Burke left the match due to injury after totaling seven saves against 27 shots faced in 58 minutes of work. The UIC Flames (4-7-2, 2-3-1 MVC) out-shot Bradley 16-4 in the first half, and kept up the pressure in the second half with a 24-0 shot total advantage in the second half.
The Flames offense would prove too much down the stretch, scoring six goals in the final 30 minutes to capture their second MVC win and secure a series sweep of the Braves. Josh Torres led the way for UIC with two goals. Bradley will be back in action against SIUE on Saturday, October 29th in Shea Stadium.
