Nielsen Breaks School Mark In 800

AMES, Iowa – Sophomore Julia Nielsen broke the school record in the women's 800 meters to highlight action for Bradley Track & Field on the final day of competition at the Iowa State Classic Saturday.

Nielsen improved on her Missouri Valley Conference-best time in the 800 meters, posting a time of 2:08.71 to break her sister Wilma Nielsen's school record of 2:09.03 set last January.

In addition to Nielsen's efforts, sophomore Max Dieterich had a strong showing in the men's mile. Dieterich crossed the line in a time of 4:05.02, challenging his personal best time of 4:04.93 turned in at last month's Cyclone Open.

Fellow sophomore Will Smith also helped highlight the day in the men's 800 meters, clocking a 1:54.93.

The Braves are back in action next Saturday at Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invite.
