Camryn Monteer Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Senior third baseman Camryn Monteer (Boonville, Mo./Boonville R-1) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after hitting .471 during the opening weekend of action for Bradley Softball.

Monteer collected one quarter of Bradley's hits during action at the GCU Kickoff Classic in Phoenix, Ariz., going 8-for-17 with a double, three runs and two walks in the five games. She boasted a team-best .526 on base percentage for the weekend and tallied hits in eight of her final 12 at bats; turning in multi-hit efforts in each of the final three games. A nursing major, Monteer owns a 3.62 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Monteer and the Braves return to action this weekend, opening action at the Roar City Invitational in Nashville, Tenn., Friday with a 4:30 p.m. contest against defending MAC champion Miami (Ohio).
