The Bradley baseball team is back in action this week, playing at the Music City Challenge in Nashville. The Braves (2-1) are set to take on Pittsburgh (2-2) of the ACC on Friday (11 a.m. CT) and Saturday (11 a.m.), sandwiched around a game against host Lipscomb on Friday afternoon (3 p.m.)

All games are available to watch on YouTubeTV.

ABOUT THE BRAVES
• Bradley is 2-1 through three games of the 2022 season, winning the series last weekend against Western Michigan.
• The Braves won the first two games of the three-game set before the Broncos rallied for a 19-17 victory in the finale.
• BU scored 35 runs during the season-opening series – leading the MVC with 11.7 runs per game.

EARLY OFFENSE
• Bradley has wasted no time getting the offense going with 35 runs last weekend.
• In fact, the 35 runs scored for BU are tied for the fifth most in school history through three games and are the most since plating 48 in 1956.

LATE DECIDERS
• Fans have been in for a treat so far during BU games as all three games have been decided in the last inning or second-to-last inning.
• In Friday's opener, Jackson Chatterton hit a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth inning in an 11-8 victory.
• The Braves then followed by plating five runs in the seventh (scheduled seven-inning game) in game one of a doubleheader in a 7-2 victory.
• Western Michigan, however, answered by scoring eight runs in the ninth inning of game two for the 19-17 victory.

ALWAYS ON BASE
• Redshirt freshman Peter Hansen led the Braves last weekend by reaching base safely 12 times in 15 plate appearances (.800 on-base percentage).
• The freshman hit one double and four singles, while drawing six walks and one hit by pitch.
• Hansen had appeared in only seven games in his first two seasons on campus due to COVID and an injury.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
• After a strong offensive showing to start the season, the Braves rank among the top 20 in numerous team and individual national rankings.
• Bradley is seventh in batting average (.387), ninth in on-base percentage (.493), 13th in slugging percentage (.595) and 19th in scoring (11.7 runs per game).
Peter Hansen ranks third in base on balls (2.00) and fourth in on-base percentage (.800), while Connor O'Brien is fourth in sacrifice flies (2).
