Tennis Earns League Leading Fifth Valley Weekly Award

Bozana Lojpur and Nikki Perlwitz Doubles Team of the Week

ST. LOUIS, MO – For the first time in program history, Bradley Tennis has won three consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week Awards and now has the most Valley weekly recognitions this season with Bozana Lojpur and Nikki Perlwitz earning the honor, announced this afternoon by the league office.

Bradley's No. 3 tandem was the only doubles pair in The Valley to win two matches against D1 competition last weekend and the only doubles pair to win against a ranked team.

The duo won 6-3 against Caitlyn Sporing/Melissa Vizcardo of #75 SIUE on Friday. The Cougar pair was previously 8-0 on the season before their defeat to Bradley. Lojpur/Perlwitz followed that result up with a 6-1 drubbing of Kansas City's No. 3 Doubles team.

With Madalena Andrade/Kirstin Hailey's awards in the last two weeks, Bradley has now won MVC Doubles Team of the Week three times this season. The three total Doubles Team of the Week awards are tied for the most in BU history in a single season, with Bradley earning the award three times in 2019 and 2021.

On top of the three Doubles Team of the Week awards, BU has had Maria Bezmenova and Lojpur take home Singles Player of the Week honors. The five total awards rank first in The Valley, one ahead of the Illinois State Redbirds.

Bradley's fourth all-time winningest pair, this week marks the first time that Lojpur/Perlwitz have won Doubles Team of the Week together. Lojpur has earned the award twice previously, both in February, 2019, playing alongside Malini Wijesinghe.

For Perlwitz, it is her first weekly award from The Valley in either singles or doubles competition. All six regular participants in the Bradley lineup have received weekly recognition from the MVC in their careers.
