Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Bobby Parker, Sr. Associate AD for Communications and Event & Facility Operations
PEORIA, IL – Bradley guards Caroline Waite (23 points) and Tatum Koenig (19) combined for 42 points, but Indiana State's Del'Janae Williams countered with a game-high 27 points, leading the visiting Sycamores (10-9, 5-3 MVC) to an 83-63 Missouri Valley Conference victory against the Braves (3-16, 0-10 MVC) Friday night at Renaissance Coliseum.

Waite scored 16 points in the second quarter, helping the Braves close a 30-14 deficit to 39-32 at the intermission.  She started the rally with a backcourt steal and 3-pointer with 3:44 left in the half, the first of four triples she hit in the closing minutes of the period, capped by a catch-and-shoot transition trey from 40 feet at the buzzer.

But while Waite and Koenig both shot well overall – combined 13-for-24 (.542) from the field, 6-for-13 (.462) from beyond the arc and 10-for-10 at the free throw line – the other nine Braves to see action combined to go 5-for-29 (.172) from the floor, 1-for-10 (.100) from 3-point range and 10-for-19 (.526) from the stripe.

Although Indiana State shot a tepid 40.6 percent from the field, the Sycamores used 19 offensive rebounds and 17 Bradley turnovers for a 19-7 advantage in second-chance points and 19-8 edge in points off turnovers with the 23-point combined differential covering the overall scoring gap.

In addition to Williams, the Sycamores got 14 points and eight rebounds from Mya Glanton, as well as 12 points off the bench from Anna McKendree.  Chloe Rice chipped in 10 points for the Braves, setting career-bests with eight free throws made in 11 attempts from the stripe, while forward Sierra Morrow set her career-best with a game-high 11 boards.

Bradley will close out its season-long, 4-game home stand by hosting Evansville in a 2 p.m. Valley tip at Renaissance Coliseum.
