PEORIA, Ill. – Sophomore sprinter T'ya Suber (Atlanta, Ga./Osborne) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping break the school record in the women's 4x400-meter relay.

Suber ran the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay for the Braves Saturday at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational Saturday and was part of a group that broke the school record in the event.  Combining with junior Hannah Ivy and the freshmen duo of Maya Henderson and Amiyah Davis, Suber helped the Braves break the school record 4x400 time of 3:50.37 to top the previous mark by nearly four seconds.  A criminology major, Suber owns a 3.57 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

The Bradley Track & Field team is back in action this weekend at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, Friday and Saturday, in addition to competing Friday in Allendale, Mich., at the Grand Valley Big Meet.
