Spring Break Takes Bradley Tennis to Florida

ORLANDO, FL. – Bradley Tennis takes its first trip to Florida since 2006 for three matches in three days against Merrimack, Navy and North Dakota.

SERIES HISTORY vs. MERIMACK | LAST MEETING
  • This is the first time the Braves and Warriors have met on the tennis court.
  • Merrimack is currently in its four-year NCAA Division I reclassification period and will become a fulltime member of the Northeast Athletic Conference in 2023-24.
SERIES HISTORY vs. NAVY | LAST MEETING
  • This is the first time the Braves and Midshipmen have met on the tennis court.
  • Bradley is playing a member of the United States Armed Service Academies for the just the second time in program history after facing Army during the first weekend of the season.
SERIES HISTORY vs. NORTH DAKOTA | LAST MEETING
  • Bradley leads the all-time series with North Dakota, 1-0.
  • BU took a 4-3 victory at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford, IL.
AWARDS GALORE
  • As of Monday morning, the Braves lead the Missouri Valley Conference with five weekly honors.
  • Madalena Andrade/Kirstin Hailey have taken two Doubles Team of the Week awards for their efforts at the No. 1 spot, while Bozana Lojpur/Nikki Perlwitz earned one of their own at No. 3 Doubles.
  • Lojpur (No. 1) and Maria Bezmenova (No. 4) have each taken a Singles Player of the Week award.
  • Bradley won MVC weekly awards in four consecutive weeks from February 8 – March 1, tied for the longest streak in BU history.
TOP OF THE ORDER KEY TO SUCCESS
  • Bradley's No. 1's in singles and doubles have been key in BU victories.
  • Lojpur, who has patrolled the top singles spot in every match she's played this year, is undefeated in Bradley victories. 
  • At No. 1 Doubles, Andrade/Hailey are also undefeated in Bradley wins.
SPRING BREAK
  • BU is playing three matches in three days for the first time since a 2018-19 spring break trip to New Orleans during the 2018-19 season. 
  • The Braves went 2-1 on the trip.
  • Only Lojpur, Nikki Perlwitz and Nina Marjanovic remain on the Bradley roster from that trip.
HOMECOMING
  • Bradley is playing in Florida for the first time since 2006 and only the third time in program history.
  • The trip marks a homecoming for Perlwitz and Juliana Martinez.
  • Perlwitz hails from the northern Miami suburb of Weston and Martinez is from Miami.
RECORD BOOK WATCH
  • Andrade/Hailey now have five doubles wins at the No. 1 spot, putting them in a tie for 9th in BU history for most wins at No. 1 Doubles in a season.
  • Nikki Perlwitz and Bozana Lojpur are creeping up the Bradley Tennis Record Book in multiple statistical categories.
  • Lojpur sits in a tie for sixth in Bradley Tennis history in career singles wins with 59. With two singles wins this week, she can enter the top five in program history.
  • She is closely trailed by Perlwitz, who owns 56 career wins and is in ninth place.
  • The duo is also 4th in program history in career doubles wins by a team with 37.
