Braves Start Florida Trip With a Win

Orlando, FL – Bradley Tennis snapped a three-match skid with a victory against Merrimack College, 4-3, in its first match of its spring break trip to Florida.
 
Bradley cruised to doubles success, picking up wins at all three positions. Madalena Andrade/Kirstin Hailey won 6-0 and Bozana Lojpur/Nikki Perlwitz were not far behind, winning their No. 2 Doubles contest, 6-1. Maria Bezmenova partnered with Juliana Martinez for just the second time, and the pair picked up their second victory together, 6-3, at No. 3 Doubles.
 
The Warriors picked up a walkover win at No. 6 Singles, before Bradley steamrolled to the match win by picking up straight set wins at Nos. 1, 2 and 5 Singles. 
 
Perlwitz was first to finish in her home state, breezing to a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Lojpur finished next, winning 6-2, 6-1. Hailey clinched the match win with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 2 Singles. 
 
Bradley Tennis back in action at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning against the Navy Midshipmen at the USTA Center in Orlando, FL.
 
Match Notes: Bozana Lojpur's singles win today was the 60th of her Bradley career, moving her one shy of a tie for top five in program singles wins. Today's wins were 110 and 111 of her combined tally, moving her into sole possession of seventh place in Bradley Tennis history in career combined wins… Nikki Perlwitz broke into the top 10 in career combined wins, moving into a tie for 10th place with her 100th and 101st wins of her Bradley career… In Doubles, Lojpur/Perlwitz have won eight of their last nine matches and are up to 38 wins together, four shy of third place in BU history for career wins by a doubles team... The Braves swept the doubles point for the first time this season and have won the doubles point in back-to-back matches for the first time this season.
