Connor O’Brien Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Connor O'Brien (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after hitting .462 in last weekend's series at South Florida.

O'Brien pushed his hit streak to seven games with hits in each of the three games at South Florida, going 6-for-13 in the series with two walks, two runs, two RBI, one double and one stolen base. He was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double in the series opener Friday. O'Brien helped highlight Saturday's 10-4 victory by going 1-for-4 with a walk, stolen base, one run and two RBI. He capped the series by going 3-for-5 with a run Sunday against the Bulls. A business management and leadership major, O'Brien owns a 3.40 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

O'Brien and the Braves continue their spring break trip to Florida this afternoon with a noon (CST) contest in Winter Haven, Fla., against Central Connecticut.
