Rienk Mast Named to MVC Most Improved Team

After becoming one of just two underclassmen to earn all-conference honors on Tuesday, sophomore Rienk Mast added Missouri Valley Conference Most Improved Team accolades to his resume on Wednesday.

In his second season on campus, Mast averaged 11.6 points and a conference-best 8.3 rebounds per game – aiming to become just the fourth Brave in 70 years in the Valley to lead the league in boards. His biggest improvement came during the second half of the season as the forward has averaged 14.4 points during the last two months – shooting 53.3 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from 3-point range – after tallying 8.0 points in the season's first two months.

Mast was also named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Third Team on Tuesday, while he collected MVC All-Freshman Team accolades last season.

Mast and the Braves now turn their attention toward the postseason as Bradley opens the 2022 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Friday against Loyola. Tipoff at Enterprise Center between the last four combined Arch Madness champions is set for approximately 2:30 p.m.
