Josh Kirkham Named Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior men's golfer Josh Kirkham (Austin, Texas/Fenwick [Ill.]) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after firing a career-best round 67 to tie for sixth at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate.

Kirkham tied the second-lowest 36-hole score in program history with a three-under 139 as he earned his second top-10 finish of the year (T6th). After an opening-round 72 at the par-71 Twin Oaks Country Club Monday, Kirkham posted a career-best four-under 67 in the second round for his third sub-70 round of the season. His 67 tied for the seventh-best round in program history, one stroke off of matching the school record, and was the lowest round by a Brave dating back to October 2018. A finance major, Kirkham owns a 3.10 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Kirkham and the Bradley Men's Golf team return to action Monday and Tuesday in Indianapolis, Ind. at the Butler Spring Invitational.
