Braves Play Tennessee Tech in Final Road Non-Conference Series

The Bradley baseball team returns to action with a three-game series at Tennessee Tech this weekend. The Braves and the Golden Eagles open the set on Friday night at 3 p.m. before matinee games on Saturday and Sunday.

ABOUT THE BRAVES
• The Braves are 5-11 during the 2022 season.
• Bradley is in action for the first time since Sunday after its midweek game Tuesday was canceled at Illinois.
• BU is led by its offense in 2022 – ranking second in the Valley in batting average (.304) and fourth in runs per game (7.2).

SERIES HISTORY
• Bradley owns a 10-5 edge over the Golden Eagles in a series that dates back to 1986.
• Twelve of the 15 meetings between the schools have been in the last 15 seasons.
• Bradley swept a three-game series at Tennessee Tech in the shortened 2020 season – earning victories of 6-3, 11-6 and 16-1.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
• Tennessee Tech is off to a strong start in 2022, posting a 14-5 record. The Golden Eagles have won three of their last four games during the past week.
• The Golden Eagles own one of the nation's top offenses as Tennessee Tech ranks in the top 15 nationally in scoring, batting average, slugging percentage, hits and home runs.

ROOKIE STARTER
• Freshman Jacob Kisting has not wasted any time having an impact on the Braves.
• Kisting has started four of the team's five wins this season and currently owns a 3-1 record.
• The rookie's three wins are already the most by a Bradley true freshman since Matt Dennis in 2014.
• Kisting is also the first BU freshman to earn three victories on the mound as a starter since Eric Scheuermann in 2013.

• Junior Connor O'Brien has consistently led the Braves throughout the 2022 campaign.
• O'Brien has recorded at least one hit in 14-of-16 games this season, while reaching base in 15 contests.
• The junior is currently on a career-best 11-game hitting streak, while reaching base safely in 14-straight contests.
• Overall, O'Brien leads Bradley in batting average (.397), hits (25), doubles (6), home runs (4), RBI (20) and slugging percentage (.683) in 2022.

RICE NAMED TO BUSTER POSEY LIST
• Keaton Rice was recognized among the nation's elite with a spot on the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award watch list.
• Rice is the only player in the Valley to earn a spot on the watch list.
• The senior currently ranks second in the MVC among catchers in both batting average (.296) and RBI (15).
