Game Recap: Men's Basketball |
St. Louis – The Bradley men's basketball team fell to Loyola in the quarterfinals of the 2022 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Friday, 66-50. The Braves end their season with a 17-14 record, while the Ramblers advance to the semifinals with a 23-7 mark.

Sophomore Rienk Mast led Bradley with his ninth double-double of the season – scoring 11 points to go with a game-high 13 rebounds. Junior Terry Roberts finished with a game-high 17 points, while freshman Connor Hickman also scored in double figures with 10 points.

Loyola took advantage of an early run and never gave the lead back. Trailing, 8-6, the Ramblers scored 11-straight points for a 17-8 edge and then added another 10-2 spurt later in the half en route to holding a 17-point lead at the break, 44-27.

The Braves fought in the second half but could only pull as close as 15 before the Ramblers finished off the 66-50 victory.

Bradley shot 31.4 percent on the day with a 4-of-20 performance from 3-point range. The Ramblers, meanwhile, mad 48.9 percent of their field goals, connecting on 6-of-17 from beyond the arc.

Game Notes: Bradley's 50 points and 31.4 percent shooting were both season lows – previous lows were 57 points at Southern Illinois, while shooting 36.8 percent in the season opener versus South Dakota State … Mast's nine double-doubles this season are now tied for the most by a Brave in the last 32 years (Xanthus Houston also had nine in 1990-91, while Luke Jackson was the last Brave with more with 12 in 1989-90 … Hickman scored in double figures in the last three games of the season, averaging 13.0 per game (had six 10+ point games in the season's first 28 games) … The Braves lost in the quarterfinals for the first time since 2017.
