Braves Set for Illini Invitational

Bradley will have its largest contingent of the season in action at the University of Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, IL – With 42 student-athletes scheduled to compete in at least one event, the Bradley Outdoor Track and Field Team will have its largest contingent of the season in action when the Braves take part in the Illini Invitational at Demirjian Park this weekend.

The meet, hosted by the University of Illinois, gets underway Friday afternoon and the first Braves to compete will be Shae Fuller and Kyra Koontz in the long jump, which is slated to begin at 4 o'clock. The running events are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the women's 200 meters, which will feature Koontz, Sierra Bryant, Amiyah Davis and Hannah Ivy on the women's side and Eli Rieker on the track for the men.

The Braves will have a large presence in the 1,500m races as nine women and 10 men from Bradley will take part in the event. Friday's schedule for the Braves will conclude with the 5,000 meters, highlighted by the season debut of Bradley senior McKenzie Altmayer.

Fuller once again will be in action to start Saturday's action for the Braves by participating in the triple jump, which is scheduled to begin at 2 o'clock. Bradley also has student-athletes entered in the Women's 400m, both 100m sprints, both 800m races and the Women's 4x400m Relay.

The Illini Invitational will be live streamed by Fighting Illini Productions with live event results produced by ShaZam Racing. Links to both streaming platforms are available at BradleyBraves.com.

Following the Illini Invitational, Bradley will have two regular-season meets remaining before the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships – April 28-30 at the Drake Relays and April 30 at Indiana State's Sycamore Open.
