Kirkham & Radke Pace Braves On Day One At MVC Championship

PADUCAH, Ky. – Juniors Josh Kirkham and Roy Radke are both three shots off the lead in a tie for third after carding two-over 74's on the opening day of the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference Championship and Bradley Men's Golf is fourth in the team standings after the opening round of play.

Kirkham and Radke both fired 74's during Sunday's action at the 2022 MVC Championship being held at the par-72 Country Club of Paducah and the duo closed the day three shots behind the co-leaders Matthis Besard of Southern Illinois and Drake's Silvester Tan, who are tied atop the standings at one-under 71.

On a windy day that featured rain at the start, Bradley turned in a 307 Sunday with the Braves fourth in the team standings entering Monday's second round. Southern Illinois is the leader after one round of play after a seven-over 295 in the opening round, with the Salukis holding a three-shot edge on second-place Drake (298) and five-shot advantage on third-place Valparaiso (300). Bradley was two strokes better than fifth-place Missouri State (309) and has a three-shot lead on sixth-place Loyola (310).

Transfer Aaeri Krishnan posted an opening-round 79 and is tied for 25^th overall, just three shots out of the top 15. Junior John Stillman carded a first-round 80 to close the day in a tie for 28^th overall, while fellow junior Nick Armbrust rounded out the team scoring for the Braves in a tie for 41^st after shooting an 85 Sunday.
