Connor O'Brien Named MVC Good Neighbor Award Winner

Junior Connor O'Brien of the Bradley baseball team was recognized for his work off the diamond as he was honored as one of 10 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Good Neighbor Award recipients for the spring season.

The Valley recognizes 10 student-athletes three times annually, honoring the achievements of exceptional student-athletes through the Good Neighbor Award. In order to be eligible, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition.

O'Brien's highlights off the baseball diamond include:
• Dean's List Fall 2018, Spring 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021
• Braves Council Student Athlete Representative for Baseball 2019-2022
• Team Lead for Senior Consultant Project
• Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week
• MVC Honor Roll (2018-2021)
• Community Service
    • VS. Cancer Fundraiser Co-Lead in 2021 and Lead in 2022
    • Helped raise more than $40,000 the two years for VS. Cancer Foundation and the Children's Hospital of Illinois
    • Visited the children at the Children's Hospital of Illinois
    • RB Church Food Drive Volunteer
    • 5K Military Run Volunteer
