PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Connor O'Brien (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo) has been named this week's Bradley Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after hitting .563 in four games for Bradley Baseball last week.
O'Brien, who was 9-for-16 at the plate, slugged three home runs, scored six runs and drove in seven during the week, while boasting a .611 on base percentage and 1.188 slugging percentage. He reached base at least twice in all four games and belted a pair of homers in Sunday's series finale at Evansville. A business management and leadership major, O'Brien owns a 3.40 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a student-athlete is selected as the Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in academic standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
O'Brien and the Braves return to action Friday, opening a three-game home series against Indiana State with a 6 p.m. contest at Dozer Park.
