Fourth-year student athletes Adam Brian and Taylor Catton were named team captains for the 2023 Bradley baseball season on Wednesday.

The team's most-experienced catcher entering the season, Brian has appeared in 25 career games with the Red & White and 17 starting assignments. The Springboro, Ohio, native owns a .208 career batting average with 13 runs scored and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate.

Catton is the team's active leader in appearances and wins on the mound. The Dunlap, Illinois, native has totaled 110 career strikeouts and eight career wins in 40 games played – almost exclusively as a reliever – and 121.2 innings pitched.

Brian was named the Braves' Phil Kaiser Memorial Award winners as the program's best teammate following the 2022 season, while Catton was honored as an MVC Scholar-Athlete for the first time during his career.

Bradley finished the 2022 campaign by placing fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference standings with an 11-10 league record. It marks the first time in school history that the Braves posted four-straight winning seasons in MVC play.
