PEORIA, Ill. -- After back-to-back weekends away from home, Bradley Volleyball returns to Renaissance Coliseum this weekend to close out the non-conference portion of the 2022 schedule with the CEFCU Classic Friday and Saturday.

The CEFCU Classic starts Friday morning with Western Michigan facing St. Thomas at 10 a.m. followed by a 2 p.m. contest between St. Thomas and IUPUI.  The Braves (3-6 overall) take the court for a 6 p.m. matchup with Western Michigan (5-4 overall) to conclude the opening day.

Saturday's action starts at 10 a.m. with Bradley taking on St. Thomas (2-7 overall).  A 2 p.m. match between IUPUI and Western Michigan falls before the tournament concludes with a 6 p.m. outing for the Braves against IUPUI (4-5 overall).  All three Bradley matches will be available on ESPN3.

Friday's matches are First Responders Appreciation Games, while Saturday is Educators Appreciation and Military Apprecation Day.  For details or ticket information visit - https://bubrav.es/VolleyTix

The Braves will play six of their next eight contests at home, where they are a combined 41-15 (.732) since the start of the 2018 season.  In MVC play, Bradley is an even more impressive 29-7 (.806) at home over that span.  Bradley's 29 home league wins since the start of 2018 match the team's combined MVC home win total from 2004 through 2017.

Kendall Minta has certainly made her presence known at the net with the freshman ranking second in the MVC in blocks per set (1.28).  In fact, her average ranks fifth nationally among freshmen.  Minta has collected 1.79 blocks per set in the last four outings, which included a season-best 11 blocks in last Saturday's five-set victory against Tennessee Tech.  Minta's 11 blocks were the most by a Brave since Kaitlyn Comiskey had 11 blocks against SIU Edwardsville on Sept. 5, 2008 and Bradley had a season-best 15.0 blocks in the match which marked BU's highest block total since the 2016 season opener.  As a team, Bradley has averaged 2.61 blocks per set over the last four contests.

For the fifth time in the last six years Bradley will host a pair of in-season tournaments with this weekend's CEFCU Classic.  Overall, the Braves are 67-44 (.604) when hosting an in-season tournament, which includes a 17-10 (.630) mark since 2017.

Bradley will open the Missouri Valley Conference portion of the schedule on the road, heading to Terre Haute, Ind., Friday Sept. 23 for a 5 p.m. (CT) match at Indiana State.
