PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Women's Golf makes the first trip to the state of Pennsylvania in program history with the Braves heading to State College, Pa., for the Nittany Lion Invitational Saturday and Sunday.

The Braves opened the 2022-23 season close to home, finishing eighth of 15 teams at the Redbird Invitational earlier this week and kick off the season with the three tournaments in three consecutive weeks.

Play at the par-72 Penn State Blue Course gets underway Saturday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start to the first two rounds, while Sunday's final round will feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Four of the 16 teams scheduled to complete in the Nittany Lion Invitational closed the 2021-22 season ranked in the top 100 of the Golfweek.com rankings, led by Kennesaw State (72).  Boston College (83), tournament-host Penn State (92) and Eastern Kentucky (98) also finished in the top 100 last year.  The field also includes Bucknell, Butler, Central Michigan, Columbia, High Point, Navy, Richmond, Seton Hall, Toledo, Towson and Youngstown State.

Sophomore Maria Perakis paced the Braves at the Redbird Invitational, earning her fourth career top-20 finish to open the season.  Perakis, who tied for 17th at the Redbird Invite, has now been Bradley's top finisher in seven of her 11 career outings as a Brave.

Senior Mara Flaherty moved into 20th in school history with 42 career rounds in the 70's or better after tying for 28th (231) at the Redbird Invite.

Freshman Allison Pacocha had a strong outing in her collegiate debut, tying for 31st (232) at the Redbird Invitational, while junior transfer Grace Aromando also made her Bradley debut earlier in the week and fired a final round 77 to finish one shot back of Pacocha.

Junior Harriet Barker rounds out the Bradley lineup after playing as an individual in the season opener, where she tied Aramonado for 36th at 233, and is appearing in the BU lineup for the third time in her career.

The Braves follow up the Nittany Lion Invitational with a trip to Columbia, Mo., for the Johnie Imes Invitational (Sept. 26-28).
