Volleyball Falls At #11 Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Bradley Volleyball dropped its road opener, falling at #11 Purdue in three sets as the Boilermakers topped the Braves 25-13, 25-14, 25-15 Friday to open action at the Reamer Club Xtra Special.

Freshman Kendall Minta and junior Doga Topcicek tied for team-high honors with each collecting five kills. Topcicek added seven digs and an ace to go with her five kills, while Minta notched a team-best three blocks and hit .444 to pace Bradley (1-3 overall).

Eva Hudson led Purdue (4-0 overall) with 10 kills as she helped the Boilermakers attack at a .293 clip in the sweep.

Bradley trailed 14-11 in the first set when Purdue broke things open with nine consecutive points capped by back-to-back Hudson kills. The Boilermakers went on to take the opening set 25-13.

In the second set, the Braves held an early lead and things were knotted up at 7-7 when Purdue took control with an 8-0 run. Ali Hornung had a pair of aces during the spurt as Purdue went up two sets to none following a 25-14 second-set victory.

Purdue jumped out to an early lead in the third set and completed the sweep with a 25-15 win as the Boilermakers extended their non-conference home win streak to 31 consecutive matches dating back to 2016.

Bradley continues action at the Reamer Club Xtra Special this afternoon, facing defending Horizon League champion Milwaukee at 3 p.m.
