Graduate student Alec Danner and freshman Peyton Schieppe of the Bradley cross country teams swept the Missouri Valley Conference weekly awards – earning the league's Male Athlete and Female Athlete of the Week accolades.

Danner led the Braves to the team title at the Bradley Intercollegiate, crossing the finish line in first place to claim his first collegiate cross country individual crown. The graduate student ran the 8K course in 23:49.2 to record the fastest time in school history – surpassing the record of 23:58.3 previously held by George Watson. Danner's time was also nearly 24 seconds quicker than the previous standard at the Bradley Intercollegiate, set by Elkanah Kibet in 2006 at 24:13.

While Danner got his final season in the Red and White off to a strong start, Schieppe was strong in her first collegiate race. The rookie placed third overall at the Bradley Intercollegiate by running the three-mile course in a time of 16:49.4. Her time is the fourth fastest by a Brave in school history at their home meet and the quickest since 2016.

The Braves return to action on Sept. 30, competing at the Joe Piane Invite at Notre Dame.
