The Bradley soccer team plays its second-straight road game to open Missouri Valley Conference action with a Saturday night contest at UIC.

GAME INFO
Kickoff begins at 7 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3.

ABOUT THE FLAMES
UIC enters the weekend with a 2-4-1 overall record. Last Saturday, the Flames fell to Drake, 1-0, in their first MVC contest before losing a midweek contest to DePaul, 3-2, on Saturday.

Six different players have scored seven total goals for UIC this season with Brian Perez leading the team with two tallies. Christian Crespo also has a team-best four points on a goal and two assists. In net, Andres Vasquez has started the last five games for the team, posting a 0.80 goals against average and .765 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
In a series that dates back to 1989 (Bradley's third season as a soccer program), the Flames hold a slight 9-8-0 advantage all-time against BU. UIC has won the last four contests between the two in-state foes with the last meeting occurring in 2017, while the schools have played just twice in the last 14 years. Two of UIC's wins during the four-game streak have come in overtime with an additional game decided by just one goal.

STRONG DEBUT
Seeing his first career action last week, redshirt freshman goalie Will Nicholson did not disappoint against Southern Indiana. The rookie stopped all four shots on target in a 1-0 win for the Braves, recording the team's first clean sheet of the season. In fact, Nicholson is the first Brave to record a shutout in his first collegiate action since Mike Haynes did so in a 3-0 victory against St. Francis (Pa.) on August 25, 2006.

Overall, Nicholson owns a 1.00 goals against average and .818 save percentage in two games this season.

UP NEXT
The Braves return to Shea Stadium for the first time in 18 days next Saturday, hosting Missouri State on Oct. 1 for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and is also an Educators Appreciation and First Responders Appreciation Game.
