MURRAY, Ky. – Bradley Volleyball continued Missouri Valley Conference play with road losses to Belmont and Murray State on the road over the weekend. They are now 7-10 overall and 0-4 in MVC play.
The Braves traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday to play against Belmont. They were swept in a very close match with scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-21. Bradley hit for .202 while Belmont recorded a .322 hitting percentage.
Junior Silan Demirkol led the team with 13 digs and a team-high 11 kills. Kendall Minta tallied five blocks and Karina Simatos had four service aces.
On Saturday afternoon, Bradley played Murray State. They were swept again with scores of 26-24, 25-14 and 27-25. The Racers hit for .231 and Bradley recorded a .125 percentage.
Demirkol once again led the team in kills with nine. On the defensive side, Minta collected 10 total blocks, placing her second all-time in Bradley history in three-set matches. Loren Scott contributed with 26 assists and 11 digs.
Next weekend, the Braves are back on the road at UIC on Friday and Valparaiso on Saturday. They return to Renaissance Coliseum on Oct. 13 to take on7- Murray State at 6 PM.
