PEORIA Ill. – On Monday night, Bradley Volleyball will hit the road along I-74 for their first match of the season with Illinois State. The Braves will face the Redbirds at 6 PM at CEFCU Arena.
Matchup
Bradley will face Illinois State for the first time of the 2023 season on Monday night. They defeated the Redbirds in both matches last season for the first time since 2019. The Braves have bested the Redbirds three times in a row on three different occasions, dating back to 1978.
Illinois State is in third place in the Missouri Valley Conference this season with a 6-2 conference record. They have an 8-12 overall record, and they are on a six-game winning streak, including victories against Belmont and Murray State last weekend.

Karagan Coggin is on the cusp of joining the 1,000-kill club in Bradley history, needing 15 more kills. She would be the 16th person in Braves history to join the club and the most recent since Hannah Thompson. She is also 12 sets played away from breaking the all-time record in Bradley history.
The Braves currently hold an 0-8 conference record with an overall record of 7-14. They have played three five-set matches in a row dating back to Oct. 7 at Valparaiso. Bradley leads the MVC in aces per set with 1.70.
Sophomore Kendall Minta is seventh in the MVC with a hitting percentage of .330. Additionally, she leads the Valley with 23 solo blocks. Dru Kuck currently averrages 4.41 digs per set, the seventh best mark in the Valley.
