PEORIA Ill. – Bradley Volleyball returns home this weekend for matches with Valparaiso on Friday and UIC on Saturday. Both matches start at 6 PM.
Matchups
The Braves welcome the Valparaiso Beacons on Friday night for their second matchup of the season. Valparaiso won in a close five-set match in their first match. Jasmine Green tallied 17 kills and 14 digs in that match, while Silan Demirkol recorded 26 digs. In the MVC this season, Valparaiso is in fourth place with an 8-5 conference record.
On Saturday night, UIC will travel to Renaissance Coliseum to face Bradley. The Braves were swept in their last match in Chicago, Illinois. Karagan Coggin hit for .348 in that match with eight kills. The Flames sit right behind the Beacons with a 7-6 MVC record. Both teams have an overall record of 16-10.
Bradley Notes
The Braves have only five matches left on the schedule, with three of them at home. In the Missouri Valley Conference, Bradley is in 11th place with a 2-11 record and 9-17 overall record.
Green leads the team in kills with 230 and leads in kills per set at 2.78. On the defensive side, Kendall Minta has 100 blocks this season, the most on the team by 41. Dru Kuck is second in Bradley history in digs per set at 4.51.
Bradley has two promotions this weekend at Renaissance Coliseum. Friday night is Alumni Night against Valparaiso. On Saturday, Bradley will be celebrating senior night with the seven seniors on the Braves roster. Their final home match of the season is on Nov. 15 against Illinois State at 6 PM.
