Box Score 2 VALPARAISO, Ind. – Bradley Volleyball had tightly contested matches on the road at UIC and Valparaiso but lost in both matches.
On the road for the second straight weekend, the Braves played UIC on Friday night. The Flames narrowly swept Bradley in a closely-fought match, with set scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-21. Bradley hit for .230 in the third set but had a .100 hitting percentage in the match while UIC posted a .154 percentage.
Senior Jasmine Green led the team with nine kills while Karagan Coggin hit for .348 with eight kills. On the defensive side, Dru Kuck tallied 19 digs.
The Braves traveled to Indiana to take on Valparaiso on Saturday. Bradley narrowly took the first set by a score of 25-23 but lost the second set. The third set was secured by Bradley, 25-23, but fell in the fourth set, leading to a fifth set showdown. The Beacons were victorious with a 15-6 fifth set victory.
Once again, Green led the team in kills with 17, while also contributing two aces and 14 digs. Coggin recorded 15 kills and Kendall Minta added 10. Silan Demirkol collected 26 digs and Kuck tallied 25.
Bradley returns home after two consecutive weeks on the road. They play Murray State on Friday at 6 PM and Belmont on Saturday at 5 PM. On the following Monday night, they will travel down I-74 to take on Illinois State at 6 PM.
