SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Cal. – Bradley Men's Basketball continued the 2023 SoCal Challenge with a win over Tulane by a score of 80-77.
The Bradley Braves (4-0) defeated the Tulane Green Wave (3-1) on Monday night in the SoCal Challenge. Bradley topped Tulane with a score of 80-77.
Bradley took the edge over Tulane in the first half with a 40-34 lead. In the last two minutes of the half, the Braves went on a 9-0 run to take their first lead since the 19:15 mark in the beginning of the game.
The Braves were 2-for-11 from beyond the arc but tallied 24 points in the paint compared to Tulane's 14 points. They also shot 47% from the field with 19 rebounds in the first half.
Darius Hannah was tied in points with 10 with a perfect 4-for-4 percentage from the field. Malevy Leons also tallied 10 points with two rebounds. Connor Hickman made both three-pointers for Bradley for a total of 10 points.
In the second half, the Braves took down Tulane by a final score of 80-77. The Braves went 8-for-24 from the three-point line with a 45.8 percentage from the field. Bradley tallied 37 rebounds, while Tulane had 30. The Braves also put up 18 second chance points compared to seven for the Green Wave.
Leons led Bradley with 18 points, three rebounds and seven free throws made in eight attempts. Christian Davis recorded 12 points with seven rebounds. Hannah collected 14 points and six rebounds, while Duke Deen produced 13 points. Bradley's starters had 69 of their 80 points in the contest.
