PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Men's Basketball took down SIUE on Thursday night at Carver Arena by a score of 75-64.
Bradley held a 39-35 lead over SIUE in the first half after they shot 9-for-14 from the three-point line. The Braves tallied 17 rebounds, 14 of those on the defensive side. Overall, they shot 54.2% from the field, while the Cougars shot 36.7%.
Duke Deen collected 22 points in the first half after he was 6-for-8 from beyond the arc in his 19 minutes played. The senior also recorded two rebounds and two assists. Deen's 22 points was the most by a Brave in a first half since Hersey Hawkins in 1988. Christian Davis landed two three-pointers in the first half and Malevy Leons had four rebounds to lead the Braves.
The Braves took down the Cougars with a score of 75-64. They recorded 40 rebounds in the game and shot 47.3% from the field. On the defensive side, they had six blocks and seven steals. The Braves had 22 points in the paint and 12 made three-point shots.
Deen ended his night with 27 points and seven made three-pointers. The last time he made seven three-pointers was on Dec. 19, 2022, against Stonehill. Leons recorded his second double-double in as many games with 10 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Davis tallied 14 points and eight rebounds. Darius Hannah collected nine points and seven rebounds. Demarion Burch contributed eight points, four rebounds and a game-high four assists.
Looking Ahead
The Braves stay at home for a game with Truman State on Dec. 28 to wrap up non-conference play. The game starts at 7 PM on Thursday night.
Missouri Valley Conference play resumes on Jan. 3 against Valparaiso at 7 PM on the road. They return home on Jan. 6 to face Missouri State at 3 PM.
