PEORIA, Ill. – Former Bradley Baseball star Mike Tauchman will be inducted into the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame during halftime of the Jan. 20 men's basketball game at Carver Arena.

In addition to the induction ceremony at halftime of the game versus Belmont, a Mike Tauchman dinner event will be held the prior night, Jan. 19, at Alexander's Steakhouse.

Tauchman appeared in 193 games from 2010-13 and started 192. He holds the program record for reaching base safely, having done so 367 times. Tauchman finished with a .341 career batting average, ranking eighth in Bradley history (min. 300 at-bats). Tauchman also ranks among the top 10 for career records in games started (192, seventh), at-bats (701, ninth), hits (239, third), triples (10, tied for fifth), walks (108, fourth), on-base percentage (.438, tied for third) and sacrifice bunts (20, tenth).

Tauchman's 2013 season was one of the best in Bradley's history. He finished with an NCAA-leading .425 batting average (79-186), setting the modern-day program record in the process, while joining fellow Bradley Hall of Famer Joe Napoli (1960) as Bradley Baseball players to lead the nation in batting average. Tauchman also finished with a .513 on-base percentage in 2013, which ranked fourth nationally. His exceptional season culminated in becoming the first Brave to be named a consensus All-American and the second Brave to be named Joe Carter Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, joining Mike Dunne's 1984 season.

Tauchman was drafted in the 10th round by the Colorado Rockies in the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft and made his MLB debut June 27, 2017. Tauchman has played in parts of six MLB seasons with four teams: the Rockies (2017-18), New York Yankees (2019-21), San Francisco Giants (2021) and, most recently, the Chicago Cubs (2023). He was a key contributor to the New York Yankees playoff push in 2019 and he became the first-ever Bradley Baseball player to suit up for the Chicago Cubs in 2023, batting leadoff and manning center field for the majority of the season. His performance with the Cubs launched a popular social media phrase that led to Obvious Shirts releasing a pair of "Summer of Mike Tauchman 2023" t-shirts, as well as a "Palatine Pounder" shirt honoring the Palatine, Ill., native. He has also appeared for the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization in 2022, where he was named an All-Star.

Tickets for the Jan. 20 men's basketball game versus Belmont currently are available for purchase at bradleybraves.com and at the Renaissance Coliseum Box Office in person or by phone at (309) 677-2625.

Dinner with Mike Tauchman will begin at 7:00 pm Jan. 19 and will include your choice of a plated steak, chicken breast or salmon dinner at Alexander's Famous Steakhouse (100 Alexander St., Peoria, IL 61603); a silent auction of Tauchman autographed memorabilia, an apparel package from Obvious Shirts and a Chicago Cubs 2024 game day experience; and a speaking program to include Tauchman's Hall of Fame acceptance speech, followed by a Q & A session with Voice of the Braves Dave Snell.
