Peoria, IL. After 19 road games to start the season, Bradley (9-11) opened up its home schedule against the Eastern Illinois Panthers (13-7), winning 8-5 behind a season-high five home runs.

Game Recap
It had been more than a month since the start of the 2023 baseball season began for Bradley, and finally, the Braves got a chance to play in front of their home fans. It didn't take long for the Braves to give the BU faithful something to cheer about. In the first home at-bat of the season, Ryan Vogel sent the first pitch 331 feet down the left field line for a lead-off home run. BU wouldn't be done in the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back singles from Jackson Chatterton and Connor O'Brien setting up a Logan Delgado SAC fly to bring in one more run. Bradley would go on to hit four more home runs throughout the course of the game with Carson Husmann striking in the 2nd and 8th innings.

Ryan Vogel and Connor O'Brien would cap the night off with two more home runs in the bottom of the 7th to break a 4-4 tie, giving BU the 6-4 lead. Bradley would surrender one run in the top of the 8th, but Husmann's second home run of the night would add the insurance run that saw BU hold on the three-run win at 8-5.

On the defensive side, Bradley would pitch by committee with Dalton Mall starting the game off. Mall would go 3.1 IP with three earned runs and five strikeouts. Five other Bradley arms would get to see action with the highlight being Theo Zeidler making his collegiate debut. Zeidler would notch his first and second career strikeouts in his lone inning of work. Anthony Potthoff would get the win for Bradley and Connor Langrell would pick up his team-leading sixth save of the season.
