Bloomington, Ill. – The Bradley Track and Field Teams traveled to Illinois State University and won six individual championships in the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track Championships. The Braves' six individual championships set a new school record for individual championships in one year, surpassing last year's record of five championships.
Six MVC Individual Champions
Three men won individual championships for the Braves.
Charlie Parrish won the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase, running the event in 8:44.62. Parrish's time sets a new school record, breaking his one-month-old record of 8:45.37.
George Watson claimed gold in the 5,000 meters, running the distance in 14:27.66.
Alec Danner won his first collegiate individual championship, winning the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:41.94.
In addition to Parrish, Watson and Danner, three women won individual championships.
Tiana LoStracco claimed two of those championships, winning the 800-meter and 1,500-meter events roughly an hour apart. LoStracco ran 1,500 meters in 4:28.75, including running the final lap in 1:01.47. Just one hour later, LoStracco ran 800 meters in 2:05.79, the lowest time run in the 800m by a Brave this season.
Peyton Schieppe won the 5,000-meter race, running a 16:23.66 in the championship.
Other Notables
Eli Rieker set a new school record in the Men's 200-meter preliminaries, running the event in 21.43 seconds. Rieker's sprint broke Tyronne Bolden's record of 21.56, set in 1986 as well as breaking Bradley great Gordon Busse 220 yard conversion time, set in 1952. Rieker's time also broke his personal record of 21.93 seconds, set on April 27, 2023.
Amiyah Davis finished third in the Women's 400-meter finals with a time of 55.09. Davis' time is good for the third-fastest 400m time in school history. Davis also set a new personal best, breaking her old PB of 55.38.
In addition to LoStracco's win in the Women's 800-meter finals,
Trixie Wraith earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 2:10.39.
In the 1,500-meter Preliminaries,
Jack Crull and
Max Dieterich won their heats, while
Tiana LoStracco won her heat. In the Men's finals, Crull and Dieterich earned podium placement with second and third-place finishes. Crull ran 1500 meters in 3:55.83 and Dieterich ran 1500 meters in 3:57.53. Both runners earned All-MVC Honors. As previously mentioned, LoStracco took gold in the Women's 1,500-meter finals.
In addition to
Charlie Parrish's record-setting 3,000 Meter Steeplechase victory,
Remi Chavenaud placed fourth in the event with a time of 9:14.68.
The Braves shone brightest in the Men's and Women's 5,000-meter races, as four men and two women placed in the top eight of their respective finals. In addition to
George Watson's victory in the Men's 5,000-meter finals,
Matt Aho placed third with a time of 14:33.56,
Alec Danner claimed fifth with a 14:37.60 and
Michael Rebello took sixth with a 14:40.47.
Ashley Maguire placed fifth in the Women's 5,000-meter finals with a 17:06.68, joining Schieppe as the two Braves to place in the event.
Despite a slower pace in the Men's and Women's 10,000-meter races due to shifting start times and high humidity, one Brave placed in each of the Men's and Women's finals.
Alec Danner took the victory, while
Olivia Harp placed third in her first-ever 10,000-meter race, running the event 36:55.96.
Shae Fuller placed 7th in the Triple Jump with a distance of 11.49 meters.
Team Standings
The Bradley Men finished fifth out of ten teams with 71 points in the team standings. Most notably, the Men's performance in the 5,000-meter race earned 23 points for the team, tied for the most points earned by a team in a single event across all Men's and Women's teams. The Bradley Women finished sixth out of ten teams with 58 points. The Braves finished with 14 points in the 800-meter and 5,000-meter events.

The Braves will wait for an announcement from the NCAA on qualifiers for the 2023 Track and Field Championship West Preliminary, which will be held May 24-27 at Sacramento State.
