PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley Baseball assistant coach Tyler Albright has been selected as the 2023 ABCA/Marines NJCAA Division II National Assistant Coach of the Year, announced by the ABCA on Wednesday. Albright will be honored on the with all other award winners at the 80th annual ABCA Convention on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.
Albright, serving as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for Heartland Community College, helped the Hawks go 57-5 overall and 28-4 in Mid-West Athletic Conference in the 2022 season as the Hawks won the NJCAA Division II National Championship. Heartland went 146-39 throughout his four-year tenure prior to joining the Braves during the 2023-24 offseason.
"Coach Albright was a very important piece to what we did here," said Heartland baseball head coach Chris Razo. "Last year was the ultimate culmination of the four years he was here with me. It's hard to find someone as driven and motivated as TA. His legacy is finally getting the recognition he deserves."
