PEORIA, Ill. – With conference play underway, Bradley Volleyball had back-to-back defeats to Northern Iowa and Drake at Renaissance Coliseum.
Bradley had their first conference game of the season against Northern Iowa on Friday night. They lost a long first set by a score of 32-30. They dropped the remaining two sets with scores of 25-21 and 25-20. The Panthers hit for an overall .246 percentage while Bradley hit for .160.
Leading the way was senior Jasmine Green, contributing 13 kills with a .280 hitting percentage. Doga Topcicek recorded nine kills and Kendall Minta hit for .545 with seven kills. Minta also made contributions at the net, tallying three solo blocks and three block assists.
On Saturday night, the Braves matched up with Drake and were swept with scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-12. The Bulldogs hit for a collective .324 while BU recorded a .084 percentage.
Silan Demirkol collected eight kills, the most for the Braves. Minta hit for .273 with five kills. Junior McKenna Scheib contributed with three block assists and four kills.
Looking ahead, the Braves continue conference play this weekend on the road at Belmont and Murray State. They return to Renaissance Coliseum on Oct. 13 and 14.
