PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Volleyball is set to head south to Murray State and Belmont this weekend. They match up with Murray State on Friday at 6 PM and Belmont at 1 PM on Saturday afternoon.
Matchups
Continuing their conference play, the Braves play Belmont on Friday in Nashville, Tennessee. The Bruins currently hold an 8-9 record with a 2-1 conference record. Bradley defeated Belmont in their only game last season by a score of 3-1. Kendall Minta hit for .435 with 14 kills. Karagan Coggin and Karina Simatos both recorded four aces.
Bradley matches up with Murray State on Saturday afternoon to continue their road trip. In the MVC, the Racers are in seventh place with a 2-1 conference record and an 8-4 overall record. Murray State fell in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament to Valparaiso last season. In their only match last season, the Braves fell to Murray State 3-1. Doga Topcicek collected 14 kills while Abby Johnson and Minta both had eight blocks.
Bradley Notes
In the MVC, the Braves sit in ninth place with a 7-8 record. They hold an 0-2 conference record after defeats at home to Northern Iowa and Drake. Bradley will be on the road next weekend at UIC and Valparaiso. They return home on Oct. 27 and 28 to face Murray State and Belmont again.
Senior Jasmine Green leads the team in kills per set with 2.36. Kendall Minta is hitting a team-best .378 this season, the fourth best in the MVC. The sophomore is also seventh in the Valley with 0.85 blocks per set. The Braves have four players in the MVC top 20 in aces: Corrie Brown, Dru Kuck, Silan Demirkol and Karagan Coggin.
