Box Score CARBONDALE, Ill. – Bradley Men's Basketball defeated Southern Illinois on Wednesday night for the biggest comeback in program history with a score of 70-69.
The Salukis led the Braves at halftime with a 45-24 margin. Duke Deen led Bradley with seven points, two rebounds and two assists. Darius Hannah was close behind with six.
The Bradley Braves came back in the second half to take down the Salukis with a final score of 70-69. Bradley trailed by as many as 23 in the game and came all the way back after an 11-1 run midway through the second half and a 16-2 run to take the lead at the end of the half.
Bradley ended the night with a 50% field goal percentage and 47% three-point percentage. They edged the Salukis with 34 points in the paint and 14 points off turnovers. Bradley shot 13-for-15 from the free throw line with nine made in the second half. The Braves also tallied five blocks and seven steals.
Deen, Hannah and Connor Hickman all recorded 15 points for Bradley. Hannah had three rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals. Deen collected five rebounds and six assists, while Hickman had three rebounds and two steals.
Malevy Leons was in double-figures with 10 points, five rebounds, a block and two steals. Demarion Burch had seven points in the game.
Looking Ahead
After a 2-0 roadtrip, the Braves come back home for a quick homestand. They face Belmont on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM and Murray State on Jan. 24 at 6 PM. On Jan. 27, Bradley travels to Indiana State to play the Sycamores for the second time of the season.
