Peoria, IL - Mike Tauchman was honored with an induction into the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame this past weekend, during the halftime of the men's basketball game at Carver Arena. Preceding the induction ceremony, a dinner event took place Friday evening at Alexander's Steakhouse, paying tribute to Tauchman's remarkable achievements. The evening included a Q&A Session, featuring Bradley Baseball Head Coach Elvis Dominguez, Voice of the Braves Dave Snell, and of course, the celebrated honoree, Mike Tauchman.

During his time at Bradley Baseball from 2010-2013, Tauchman played in 193 games and started 192. He holds the program record for reaching base safely 367 times. Tauchman finished his career with a .341 batting average, which ranks eighth in Bradley history for players with a minimum of 300 at-bats. He also ranks in the top 10 for career records in games started (seventh), at-bats (ninth), hits (third), triples (tied for fifth), walks (fourth), on-base percentage (tied for third), and sacrifice bunts (tenth).

In 2013, Tauchman had an outstanding season and set several records for Bradley. He led the NCAA with a .425 batting average and set a modern-day program record. His .513 on-base percentage ranked fourth nationally. He became the first Brave to be named a consensus All-American and the second to be named Joe Carter Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, joining Mike Dunne's 1984 season.

After being drafted in the 10th round by the Colorado Rockies in the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft, Tauchman made his MLB debut on June 27, 2017. He has played in parts of six MLB seasons with four teams: the Rockies (2017-2018), New York Yankees (2019-2021), San Francisco Giants (2021), and the Chicago Cubs (2023). Tauchman was a key contributor to the New York Yankees' playoff push in 2019 and became the first-ever Bradley Baseball player to join the Chicago Cubs in 2023, where he primarily played as a leadoff hitter and center fielder. His performance with the Cubs gained attention on social media and led to the release of "Summer of Mike Tauchman 2023" t-shirts by Obvious Shirts. He also played for the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization in 2022, where he was named an All-Star.

Earlier this month, Tauchman signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Cubs for the upcoming season.
