PEORIA, IL – The Braves were defeated by Drake in five sets and Northern Iowa in three sets this weekend.
FRIDAY
The Bulldogs took the first two sets, but the Braves fought back, winning the third and fourth set 25-19 and 25-18 respectively. The Braves fought hard, having the lead or tied throughout the fifth set, however, Drake squeaked away a 15-13 final set victory.
Junior
Iva Popovic led the Braves with 20 kills. Freshman
Maria Drapp led the team in assists with 26. Junior
Irene Mostardini led the team in digs with 30. Senior
Beste Ayhan had four total blocks, as Sophomore
Corrie Brown notched three block assists. Junior
Vitoria Oliveira also had a total of three blocks. Senior
Karina Simatos landed two service aces for Bradley.
The Braves led Drake in every category besides blocks. The Bulldogs and Braves both scored a combined 71 points across the five sets.
SATURDAY
The Braves took the first set past 25, falling 27-25. The Braves lost the second and third set to the Panthers as well.
Popovic led the team again in kills with eight. Drapp had 13 assists and an ace. Mostardini had 23 digs. Ayhan led the Braves with three blocks.
