PEORIA, Ill. -- The Braves look to avenge their second-place finishes at the 2023 MVC Championships this Friday at Northern Iowa.
The women will race over 6K at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 12:00 p.m.

The field of 12 will include the other members of The Valley: Belmont, Indiana State, Illinois State, Drake, Northern Iowa, Missouri State (women's race only), UIC, Southern Illinois, Murray State, Evansville, and Valparaiso.
The Braves placed well in the pre-championship polls, with the women;s team picked unanimously to place first, while the men's team polled in third and received a vote to place first.
Last Time Out
The Braves competed in the Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 18 at Newman Golf Course in Peoria.
Jayde Rosslee and
Nadia Potgieter placed second in the men's 8K and women's 6K races, respectively. Rosslee set a new program record for Pink Classic time in 8K and Potgieter ran the fourth-fastest time 6K in program history. The women took third place out of 32 teams, while the men took eighth out of 29.
Last Year at the MVC Championships
Last year's edition of the MVC Championships saw the men and women place second in their respective races at Percy Warner Park in Nashville, Tenn. The men finished second to Drake, with
Michael Rebello leading the Braves with a seventh-place finish to earn All-MVC honors.
Jayde Rosslee earned All-MVC honors, placing 10th in his first MVC Championship, while
Oliver Burns earned All-MVC Honorable Mention with a 15th-place finish. The women finished second to Belmont.
Wilma Nielsen and
Abigail Hancock each earned All-MVC selections, finishing sixth and eighth, respectively.
Nadia Potgieter and
Trixie Wraith each earned honorable mention recognition with 11th and 15th place finishes in the 6K race.
