PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University men's basketball athlete Christian Davis has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Davis was honored after averaging 15.7 points per game and shooting 63.6 percent from the field in three games at the Myrtle Beach Invitational, earning him Myrtle Beach Invitational Most Valuable Player.

The redshirt senior from Denver, Colorado, scored 47 points in victories against Texas State, Wright State and Middle Tennesee State, shooting 14-22 from the field and making seven of nine attempts from three-point range. Davis also was a perfect 12-12 from the free-throw line and tallied 10 rebounds and seven assists. Davis helped Bradley go 3-0 at the Myrtle Beach Invitational to win the title. Davis was named MVP of the tournament after his performances.

Davis' strong performance and academic success have earned him this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
